Pappenfuss was in the St. John's high school class of 1913.

Roy M. Donaldson was St. John's University Class of 1938.

Gilbert Winkelmann's baptismal name was Lawrence. He completed his sophomore year of college at St. John's University in 1909, and entered the novitiate that summer. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1916.
