On the top of this piece, Proulx has written, "S-253: The Song of Simeon [Nunc Dimittis]." Proulx identifies it as an "irregular psalm tone, plainsong with improvised 'halos.'" This is apparently a "re-work" of an earlier version. It is unclear if this is published.

Scope and Contents This unfinished manuscript is inspired by the text of the introit for Pentecost. Proulx appears to have adapted the words slightly. The sparse accompaniment for the choir is a very simple 5 beat sequence of treble notes. It is unclear by which instrument these were to have been played. Approximately eighty percent of the introit (English) text has been set to music.
