The Torch: February 1965 through 1972-1973 KEPT IN CUPBOARD #1

The following appears in the February 5, 1965 issue, p. 2, with the headline "New Staff Named to Publish 'Torch'": "After a year and a half without one, the CSB campus has a student newspaper. The editors of the new Torch are all members of the Junior class... The Torch was first printed in 1963 with Marilyn Kelly, a 1963 graduate, as editor. The following year Ann Patterson, who graduated in 1964, took over editorial duties. Only one issue of the Torch was printed in 1964. The Torch was then disbanded because of lack of staff members, a moderator, insufficient funds, and poor printing equipment... In the past the Torch had been printed by a photo offset method. The new Torch will be printed by letterpress at St. John's print shop and will resemble the Johnny Record." The 1963 and 1964 issues are apparently not in the Archives. (PLR, Oct. 2005)
