February 11, 1982:
Approved a recommendation to the Full Board concerning the Physical Education and Horsemanship:
1] CSB to discontinue requirement of 4 credits in Phys ED at the end of the 1982-1983 academic year
2] CSB to discontinue the Horsemanship Program at
the close of the 1982-1983 academic year
Included in the minutes is a copy of several faculty
signatures protesting a decision by the Board before
faculty consultation. It also includes notes from a
telephone conversation with our legal counsel Kevin
Hughes in re this subject which states that there is
no explicit contractual right to a faculty vote on this
issue. Also the administration had consulted
several faculty in EPC and FRRC.
Included in these minutes is a copy of the Position
Paper on the nature of faculty participation in
curricular decision-making: New Programs,
Reallocation/Retrenchment.

April 30, 1982:
