Francis Yuenger
Head-and-shoulders studio portrait of a dark-haired boy wearing a standing collar, gingham shirt with matching bow tie, a vest with collar, and open suit coat. His hair is parted on the side.
Black and white, brown tone. Possibly an albumen print. 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches. Mounted on an olive card, 3 5/8 x 5 3/16 inches, with beveled edges and debossed "frame" for the picture area.
Stamped in green below the picture: "C.A. Lind. Marinette, Wis."
Stray black ink mark in lower left corner.
Written on back in pencil: "F. Yuenger, Oct 2/98."
Written on back in black pen: "Fr. David Yuenger / OSB."
Stamped on back: "The Archives / St. John's Abbey / Collegeville, Minn."
Frank Yuenger was a student of St. John's University from 1896 to 1903, and entered the novitiate for St. John's Abbey in July 1903, taking the religious name David.
