Biographical / Historical

This psalm consists of two sections: a hymn of thanksgiving for God's universal care (vv 1-18), and an individual lamentation of one seeking deliverance from his accusers (vv 19-24). These two independent texts have been skillfully woven together by the Temple editors to produce one literary unity, revealing a post-Exilic compilation.
