Psalm 98: Responsorial Psalm for Christmas Day

 Item
Identifier: 0196

Scope and Contents

This manuscript of psalm 98 is to be used on Christmas Day. The antiphon is to be intoned by a cantor and the verses are to be sung by an SATB choir. There is an indication that the introduction to the verses is to be played by instruments, but there are no manuscripts of this music here. Antiphon: Proulx, Richard; verses: 17th c. French Noel ("Chantons à ce Noël joli").

This manuscript was in a file with manuscripts of other Masses that Proulx rearranged the organ accompaniment for (for manuals only or with pedal). This is Proulx's more complex accompaniment for this piece, having a separate pedal part. There is another version in this file, which Proulx has identified as "simple." It is unclear if these accompaniments were ever published.
