This piece, written by Proulx , was commissioned by St. James Lutheran Church, (Portland, Oregon) for its Bach Vespers, March 18, 2007, and dedicated to the remembrance of Erik Nielsen (Feb. 25, 1968 - Aug. 17, 1997). Included in this file are the following: an email from Nancy Nickel indicating the text that she would like Proulx to set to music; notes by Proulx; a musical sketch of the piece; a clean original manuscript (two copies of this); a corrected manuscript; two engraved versions (with copies) (engraved by Wes Alexander); a thank you note from Nancy Nickel after the performance of the piece.
