O sacra convivium
Scope and Contents
O sacra convivium / G. Carissimi ; Richard Proulx. This choral work by Carissimi has been slightly reworked by Proulx. Originally a work for soprano, alto, and tenor, Proulx has traded out the tenor part and replaced it with a bass voice.
This piece was in a file entitled, "RP scores, work on." Originally, it was a piece written by Giacomo Carissimi, and was published in octavo form by Edition Musicus. Richard Proulx apparently had plans to edit the piece. In the margins, he wrote a few directives (change the key to C, change the tenor part into a bass part), drew in a few note changes (measures 25-28,32-34, 38-41), and wrote the English translation on the back page. It is unclear if this edited version has ever been published.
