HYFRYDOL / Rowland Hugh Pichard ; Richard Proulx. This file contains Proulx's setting of the Welsh tune HYFRYDOL by Rowland Pichard. The work is a keyboard arrangement. Proulx has altered the rhythm, making it more complex with dotted rhythms.
In this file are two sets of this tune: various arrangements for HYFRYDOL - "Alleluia! Sing to Jesus" (organ, 3 trumpets in C, 2 horns in F, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, cymbals); one arrangement of HYFRYDOL - "One in Faith and One in Service" (organ, 3 trumpets in C, 2 horns in F, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani). There are 2 duplicate scores and 1 partial score of HYFRYDOL - "One in Faith and One in Service" The following manuscripts are in the file of HYFRYDOL - "Alleluia! Sing to Jesus": 2 scores (one with 4 stanzas, one with only 3), 1 organ part (4 stanzas), 1 timpani part, 1 vocal descant. There are also 3 other organ accompaniments. There is another arrangement of this tune that is set for organ, 2 trumpets, 1 trombone, 1 horn in F, 1 tuba. It is in the file entitled "tune: HYFRYDOL (brass quintet parts)." According to the internet, GIA published some arrangement by Proulx that included brass and organ; however, it is not clear if it was one of the arrangements in this file.
