Scope and Contents

Renaissance gloria for Christmas : 1st celebrant intonation / Richard Proulx. This compositional sketch by Proulx includes an introduction for either organ or brass, an antiphon, and a descant with the note "Pss. intro after 1st Vs."

This piece was in a file entitled, "RP scores, work on." In this piece, Proulx took the "Gloria" section of "Angels We Have Heard on High" and arranged it to be sung as the gloria for Christmas liturgies. There are two pages that seem to be in the same key and then there is another manuscript page that is in a different key (it may be that this third sheet was a new idea of Proulx's, but it has been included in this file because it is related, having the same tune). Only the organ accompaniment is here. It is unclear if this has ever been published.
