Daniel's vision : for baritone solo, trumpet, treble choir, 6 handbells and organ OVERSIZE

According to an informational page included with the music, this piece was commissioned by the 1976 American Guild of Organists (AGO) Mid-Winter Conclave (where it was premiered) and Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, Glendale, California. Included in this file are the following: the full score (10 pages), the trumpet part (in C) (2 pages), two copies of an information sheet. The following description of the piece, written by Richard Proulx, can be found on the bottom of the informational page. [The composer was asked to write a work of five to ten minutes' duration, using the forces available at St. Mark's; excellent trumpet and baritone solosits, a set of English handbells, and a fine group of choristers--but with very limited rehearsal time, for a post Christmas event! The work was not to be an "occasion piece" only--it had to have some practical use at other times as well. To expand the sense of dimension and space, the score is constructed with antiphonal possibilities; choir and bells at a more distant chapel or gallery position from the soloists and organ. The text utilizes the ancient trisagion of the Eastern Church --found in the Good Friday Reproaches, and now in the Proposed Rites of the Episcopal Church. This alternates with a powerful passage from Daniel which is read on the feast of the Transfiguration, but has great symbolism for christ the King, Christmas, and Easter. The "vision" ends quietly with a slow alleluia dance.] It is unclear if this large piece has ever been published.
