Diffusa est Gratia (Gradual and tract - Feast of the Annunciation), 1965
Scope and Contents
Gradual and Tract -- "Diffusa est Gratia" OVERSIZE Gradual and Tract -- Feast of the Annunciation B.V.M. 3 treble voices + organ
According to the note at the top of the second page of this music, this gradual and tract was written for the Boychoirs of St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Gregory's, Our Lady of Grace, and Holy Childhood. There are four copies of the choral part (SSA), as well as a partial manuscript of the score (vocal and organ), though measures 39-48 are missing in the score due to a cut in the paper. On the back side of the score are two other pieces of music: the cello part for "Quae est Ista" (complete); and "Gradual for Easter Day" (unfinished).
This is Proulx's arrangement for choir, 2 trumpets, and 2 trombones of Joseph Ahren's piece. It appears to be unfinished, however. It is unclear if this has ever been published. On the back side of this music are the first two pages of "Gradual and Tract - Feast of the Annunciation" (Diffusa est Gratia). Also included in this file are the last two pages of "Gradual and Tract - Feast of the Annunciation" (Diffusa est Gratia) and the cello part for "Quae est Ista."
