Bill Tamblyn, "A Window on the Music of Bernard Huijbers", 2021-11-30

Bill Tamblyn, acknowledged as the grandfather of post-Vatican II English Church Music in the UK., was Head of the Colchester Institute School of Music and Professor emeritus of the East Anglia University/Polytechnic. He taught liturgical music to BA, MA and doctoral candidates. He was commissioned by the Bishops Committee on the Liturgy to travel the dioceses of England and Wales to introduce the new ritual music of liturgy. Colleague and Huijbers scholar since 1970, he remains a leading British composer, educator, author and musicologist. In retirement, he is a bee custodian for local farms and continues to teach music throughout the rural and urban communities of East Anglia. He directs performances and recordings of various choral groups under the title of Quire.
