A decade before the liturgical reforms of Vatican 2, Huijbers and Oosterhuis collaborated on composing seasonal liturgies in the vernacular. The idea was to take an appropriate psalm and build it around a Eucharistic celebration. The gathering song, intermezzo song and closing song all shared common material, forming the Frame Song. In Advent 1960, a complete Advent Liturgy was introduced into the Amsterdam Ignatius College liturgy. This was followed by a Lenten Liturgy in 1961. Encouraged by the success of these ventures, they completed a similar integrated Liturgy for Pentecost, based on Psalm 104. Opening Song: I Want To Call You God By Your Name [BH 27] Interval/Responsorial Song: All Things Wait In Hope For You [BH 28/142] Closing Song:Come Renew The Face Of The Earth [BH 29] These three were published in the 1967 edition of the Gooi en Sticht Hymnal as numbers 27, 28 and 29. However, in the 1970 edition, a second supplement was added in which numbers BH 28 and 29 were discarded. In their place, BH 28 reappeared as BH 142, and a completely new setting of BH 29 was introduced as BH 143,removing BH 29 from the collection. Huijbers recalls that 27-29 were written as a Jubilee commission for the Dutch Society of St Gregory to be held in the cathedral church of Utrecht, but they were only partially performed because they were supposedly too difficult, but in fact there was a strong anti-vernacular bias in the cathedral at the time.
