Biographical / Historical

This song, from the Book of Judges, is a warning, a reminder from Gideon that earthly powers are empty, devoid of the real powers which determine the issues of life and death. Only the Israel's God could claim such powers. Yet as people went about their day to day business, making decisions and plans, the prophetic warning was always present. There existed One far greater than even their King, far greater than all the gods of their neighbors combined.
