Biographical / Historical
This ancient text of the Didaché is provided on page 2. Oosterhuis reconstructed it as follows for use as an acclamatory hymn within the Eucaristic Prayer. It retains the open-form style of acclamatory verses with refrains. It is sung after the Institution Narrative and leads directly into the Communion Rite. Huijbers chose to link it to the Paschal Mystery by setting it to the melos of e the Gregorian Exultet chant of the Easter Vigil.
