Homecoming Button Design, 1987 Mixed-media drawing, 18 x 24 inches. Paint (possibly tempera), pencil, annotation in blue ballpoint pen. Basic design of where lettering and artwork goes, at upper left. Wording, including five ideas for slogans, left center. "Homecoming 1987 / St. John's University / September 26 / vs. Hamline Pipers / The Piper lost his pitch." Center of sheet is filled with a large painting of the artwork to go on the button. Johnny rat stepping over a flute player lying on the ground. Wedge of cheese and several small rats in background. See button at 2011-007.0002 82/4 (Box 15:02).
