Scope and Contents
Galway Lighhouse #1 Watercolor painting, with pen and ink, by Jon Hassler, 1997. Image size approximately 4 3/8 inches high x 6 3/8 inches wide, landscape orientation. Double matted, behind plexiglas, in wooden frame painted white, with backing paper, eyehooks and wire for hanging, to a size of 8 3/4" h x 10 7/8" w x 1" deep. Painting depicts a lighthouse and two smaller buildings on a green island. A small boat is on the shore. The sky is dark, in tones of blue, rose, and purple, suggesting clouds. Backing paper has two labels and a signature. First label, taped: A Green Journey, "Galway Lighthouse #1", Watercolor, pen & ink, © JH 1997. Second label: Painting by Jon Hassler, purchased at HMML, S.J.U., Fall '98. Signature in lower right: JFH '97.

Purchased at Hill Monastic Manuscript Library, fall 1998. Later donated to HMML, probably as part of the Anderson Collection in 2012. Transferred to University Archives by Matt Heintzelman, November 2016.

1 Item : Backing paper has one small tear, approximately 1/8 inch. Three objects are pressing on the backing paper from inside.
