Eclipse of Sun, May 28, 1900
Black and white photo, brown tone. Sun behind a cross and a wind vane topped by an anemometer, secured by wires. "Eclipse of Sun May 28 8h 5m 45 sec C.T. 1900." Photo 3 7/8 x 5 1/2 inches, mounted on card 5 3/4 x 6 7/8 inches. Mounting board is gray with a narrow white rule, blind embossed pattern, and is embossed in gold with a artist's palette with the letters "St J S", and "St. John's Studio, Collegeville, Minn."
In this location, a partial eclipse was visible (56%), and maximum would have been at about 7:52 a.m. So photo was taken a few minutes after maximum eclipse.
