Studio portrait of a monk and nine young men. The monk is an older man with beard and mustache. He is in habit, and wearing round eyeglasses and a black cloth cap. The students are in suit and tie.

Bottom row: 1. Gustave Dierkes; 2. Placidus Wingerter, OSB; 3. Charles Bularzik.

John Hoppe became Leo Hoppe, OSB. Charles Bularzik became Rembert Bularzik, OSB.

Black and white photograph, brown tone. Mounted on cream-colored board with a linen finish. Surnames of students written in pen under photo. Front of mounting board debossed St. John's Studio, Collegeville, Minn.
