Clown with Clubs
Young man in clown or jester costume. He is wearing ankle boots, dark stockings, and loose shorts with fringe on the bottom. He also wears a buttoned jacket with lace at the collar and cuffs, striped sleeves, shoulder caps with fringe, and lozenges on the front of the jacket. Next to him is a small wooden table with a tablecloth and two Indian clubs.
Black and white studio portrait, brown tone. Hatchet lighting.
Mounted on cream board with beveled edges and blind embossed "frame." Stamped in gold at bottom center: St. John's Studio, Collegeville, Minn.
