German Society Picnic, circa 1907
Informal photo of a group of twenty young men and boys relaxing outdoors. All are wearing coat, tie, and hat. Some of the boys are smoking. Some hold drinking glasses or apples. Open sacks and two pails are on the ground. One young man plays a small guitar, and another wears what may be an accordion on a strap around his shoulder.
Written in ink on back: Top row: Anton Unruhe, John Funk, Henry Luetmer (now Fr. Wendelin), Nich. Schuster, & Peter Jonas.
Black and white photo, brown tone, decorative cutout shape used when printing. Mounted on gray board with two thin rules and an ornamental leaf border.
