Scope and Contents

Studio Portrait of Young Man

Full-length portrait of young man in suit and tie in front of painted background. His jacket is open. There is hay or grass at his feet, and he rests his hand on a short pillar topped with a potted ivy plant.

Black and white photograph, brown tone. Likely an albumen print. Cabinet card with gold scalloped edges.

Back of card has logo for St. John's University Art Gallery, Collegeville, Minn., with artist's palette, bellows camera, two torches.

Appears to have been pasted into a scrapbook--there is a strip of paper stuck to the logo on back.

Undated, no name. Some other cabinet cards in this style in our collection are from 1890-1895.

This photograph has been digitized.
