Joint Academic Affairs Committee, 1993-1994 through 2005-2006: Note: A list of all the meetings in the three boxes on the Joint Academic Affairs Committee include the documents in AC 04.F03 Box 01: 1993-1994 through 1998-1999; Box 02: 1999-2000 to 2002-2003; Box 03: 2003-2004 to 2005-2006. In earlier years the CSB Academic Affairs Committee of the CSB Board of Trustees acted only in the capacity as an academic affairs committee. However, in 1984-1985, the Academic and Student Affairs committees met as one committee. This practice changed in October 11, 1991 when the CSB Board decided to divide into two committees: the Academic Affairs and the Student Development Committees. The CSB Academic Affairs Committee then met as a separate CSB Committee until May 6, 1993. Beginning in 1994-1994, the Academic Affairs became a joint Board committee. One May 7, 1997 the CSB and the SJU members of the two Boards approved the Coordinate Governance document [see the Board minutes of May 7, 1993]. The Governance Document of December 8, 2000 states that the Academic Affairs Committee is a Joint Committee rather than a coordinate committee because the two colleges always meet together in this committee: "Joint Committees are made up of representatives from both boards. They function in areas where there is - or there is desired to be - a single policy of practice that encompasses both CSB and SJU. The chair of the Board of each college appoints members from their respective board to joint committees. Joint committees report to the two boards meeting jointly."
